Town Council Submits Response to KMBC’s Green Space Trust Proposal

The Town Council where shocked to hear in November that KMBC’s proposal to create a new Green Space Trust involved the sale of King George V Memorial Playing Fields Prescot (known locally as Brown’s Field). Since that time the Town Council have worked alongside local residents to help develop a new Friends of the park group (Friends of KGV Brown’s Field and Carr Lane Woods) who will campaign against it’s loss and work to enhance the site in the future. The football pitches which had been rested, are now being well used by Berkley Juniors FC who currently have 4 teams using the site, the club are launching a new academy for 4-6 year olds boys and girls training sessions on Saturday mornings 11-12 with the express interest of attracting new players from Prescot. These actions have been taken to ensure that we maximise the use of the site.

The Town Council have also approved the response to KMBC below which provides a number of alternative options to the sale of Brown’s Field.
