Mayoral Engagement – Willowbrook Hospice
The Mayor of Prescot and consort were invited recently to attend a tour of Willowbrook Hospice.
The Mayor says it was such an enlightening visit, to quote “You’re not here to die, you’re here to live till you die”. There was such kindness and understanding from all the staff and such a peaceful setting.

Phoenix Night Event not going ahead this year
The popular Phoenix Night event usually held in Bryer Road, Prescot will not go ahead this year.
Please see further details received from Family Voices Family Choices below:-
Dear all,
Our popular Phoenix Night Event will not be going ahead this year due to changes taking place with Family Voices – the charity operating the event. This has not been an easy decision to take but with a combination of timing and a lack of physical resources, unfortunately we don’t have the capacity to run the event this year.
Family Voices is currently going through a transformation and is in the process of recruiting a new Board of Trustees and Directors to drive the organisation forward.
We are optimistic Phoenix Night will be funded next year, with the local police fully supportive of the event and backing our applications for funding.
However, the support of the community is vital to ensuring Phoenix Night can successfully happen and we will be seeking volunteers to be involved in the planning, organisation and stewarding of the event. If you would be interested in getting involved, please get in touch with Jane Houghton: jane.houghton@knowsley.gov.uk
We thank you for your understanding and welcome your feedback that can help us shape next year’s event.
