Red Box Project – Prescot
Prescot Town Council are pleased to be able to support The Red Box Project – Prescot.
The project has been set up to help eradicate period poverty in schools within Prescot. They are working as part of The Red Box Project to put donated sanitary protection into schools to ensure no girl misses school or faces embarrassment because of her period. The project will have donation points set up locally for sanitary towels and tampons.
Prescot Town Hall will be a donation point for sanitary products which will go directly towards those young women who need them in Prescot schools.
We are hoping to receive our red donation box next week and will be able to accept donations during our opening hours Monday to Friday between 9.00am – 5.00pm.

Prescot Hockey Club win again
Prescot Hockey Club started their pre season preparations by winning the Golborne mixed hockey tournament at the weekend. Teams from all over the North West converged for the annual event which was of a very high standard. Prescot fielded five under 18’s and a blend of youth and experience saw them win the tournament for the first time.
The previous week saw Prescot reach the Final of the North West Summer League for the fourth time in a row were they just lost out to a very strong Warrington side.
Prescot Hockey Club run junior hockey sessions every Wednesday at Sutton Academy 7pm – 8pm and senior training from 8pm onwards at the same venue. New players of any ability always welcome.
Guide and Seek
Prescot Rainbows, Brownies and Guides have recently began an innovative project to help increase literacy across the board. In order to achieve this they have hidden books in many different local parks including Eaton Street Park and Brown’s Field. The books have been hidden in clear plastic bags so are easily recognisable when you find them. They would love it if you could post a picture of yourself on the Prescot Guide House Facebook page holding your book and telling us which park you found it in. Please take this book home and enjoy then hide it in the park again for someone else to find.
