Stop Hate UK Leaflet Drop
Prescot Town Councillors Frances Wynn and Tom Large supported the leaflet drop for ‘Stop Hate UK’ on Friday 5th July 2019 around the Molyneux Drive area of Prescot.
This was organised by the Police & Crime Commissioner’s Office in partnership with Knowsley Council, Merseyside Police and Prescot Town Council.

Prescot Carnival 2019 is a roaring success
For the eighth successive year Brown’s Field was the scene of much enjoyment as it played host to the 2019 Prescot Carnival. This Town Council run event continues to attract more and more visitors each year, all of whom are welcome to enjoy a wide variety of free activities and performances throughout the day, along with a large funfair, trader, service provider and community stalls. Despite the overcast weather visitors flocked in their hundreds to enjoy and support this fantastic community event, those in attendance were treated to performances from:-

Jamie Cushion – Prescot’s Got Talent under 16’s Winner – Singer

15th Annual Prescot Festival of Music & the Arts – Friday 21st to Sunday 30th June 2019

Band & Drums of the Cheshire Constabulary
Friday 21st June, 7.30pm (£7)
Prescot Parish Church, Church Street, Prescot. L34 1LA
We usher in the festival with a debut appearance from a spectacular brass band that began life as the Stockport Borough Polic Band over 65 years ago. Enjoy a Cottom’s hot pot in the interval, included in the ticket price.
Choral Celebration
Saturday 22nd June, 7.00pm (£5 – under 16s free if with an adult)
Prescot Parish Church, Church Street, Prescot. L34 1LA
The Prescot Festival Chorus assembles once again to perform one of the most celebrated works of the Baroque era, Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria, along with festival director Robert Howard’s Alleluia. In the second half, we welcome the sublime Liverpool Cathedral Choir, under the baton of Lee Ward, its director since 2017.

The Lymm-based big band return to Prescot with vocalists for an evening of showstopping numbers from the classic swing era. We’ve teamed up with the Albion Bakehouse to treat you to a cupcake in the interval (included in ticket price).
Opera Viva on Broadway

Whiston Town Hall, Old Colliery Road, Whiston. L35 3QX
Merseyside’s outstanding Opera Viva present a programme packed with memorable tunes from the golden age of American musical theatre, a time before the microphone. Hot drinks and bar available.
Festival Finale with Maghull Wind Orchestra & Danielle Louise Thomas
Sunday 30th June, 7.30pm (£6 – under 16s free if with an adult)

Audiences loved them so much last year, we’ve asked this exceptional community ensemble to return with a soprano soloist for another vibrant finale. Along with songs from such popular shows as Oliver! we draw the festival to a close Proms-style, with patriotic favourites, including Jerusalem and Land of Hope & Glory. Come in good voice, and bring a flag or buy one on the night!
Prescot Town Council’s Annual Community Recognition Awards Evening
Prescot Town Council hosted it’s Annual Community Recognition Awards Evening on Saturday. Local community groups were invited along to enjoy an evening to recognise the efforts of Prescot’s active community groups. Prescot Town Councillors organised the buffet for the evening and facilitated some fun games of Heads and Tails.
The award for Community Group of the Year went to the Friends of Eaton Street Park and the award for Citizens of the Year went to Karl and Clare Duvall for their work on the Red Box Project within Prescot/Knowsley.
The Mayor of Prescot raised over £200 for the Mayors Charity by holding a raffle on the evening.
Thank you to all those who came along to support the evening and congratulations to the award winners.

Mayoral Engagement
The Mayor of Prescot, Cllr Pat Cook was recently invited to attend an open day at Rydal Ward at Whiston Hospital who provide care for adults with dementia. A new courtyard has been specifically designed to meet the needs of the patients and provide a safe and open space to enjoy.

Town Council Team Up with Food Bank as Drop Point
Prescot Town Hall can now be used as drop off point for any cleaning or toiletry products that you may wish to donate to the local food bank at the Salvation Army on Warrington Road. The Town Hall has been chosen as an additional location due to its longer opening hours Monday to Friday 9am to 7pm and Saturday mornings 7am to 11am.
